Andrews Hogg & Trevelyan have been putting some thought into a late summer 1200k ride and suggested these:
Picton - Fox - Picton Around the Mainland center [which looks like the 2012 Kiwi Hunt in reverse]
It may be too late to have a 1200 added to the 2019 calendar but I can check.
Both look good Duncan. Great options for experienced riders. If we cant get them added to this years calendar, they'd still be fun to ride
The arrival of gravel bikes seems to make interleaved terrain types are possibility, perhaps even with ACP/LRM time schedules - provided not deep stuff, or super rocky, rather than gravelly or gnarly single track. Worth a few private rides to test out the possibilities I guess. This one came up a bit short using West Coast Wilderness; Mariua Saddle, the Braeburn road and the unsealed scenic route around to Picton. So start at Bluff?
Perhaps start at Middlemarch with the Otago Rail Trail?

Rail trail sounds like fun
