A nostalgic trip down Great South Road, the original State Highway 1, before the motorway went in, with a scenic trip down to Morrinsville and back up the east coast of the Hunua ranges.

Ride start time is 7am. Be there at 6.45am for ride check in.

Event Type:
A 400km BRM, starting at the Auckland Museum, travelling down Great South Road until Ramarama, before heading across to Kaiaua and down to Morrinsville. The return trip heads across to Te Aroha, and goes up the East Coast of the Hunua Ranges through Clevedon before finishing at the Auckland Musuem.

Checkpoints are:
Morrinsville: 186kms
Ngatea: 284kms
Auckland Museum: 400kms

Road surface:
All roads are sealed. There will be 160kms of dead flat roads. The rest is rolling hills, with some pinch ones at Ararimu and Kawakawa Bay
