We have had to update the routes and ride options after I did a bit of a reckie of the state of the roads. Unfortuately the 250 is cancelled this year. This route relied roads too and from Akito that are either closed or thier access is limited. 

The 80 km Route

The routes this time is an 80km route around the back of Pahiatua and its surrounds. Ridge Road is a stunning peice of gravel. This route is lumpy, but there are no nasty sustained climbs and is great for people getting into endurance riding or want an easier day.

This route takes in one of the climbs of the 160 and is a good option for those who want a bit more of a challenge that the 80.

Twice the fun of the 80 km route this takes in some of the very best roads in the district, and the views are stunning. It does have a category 2 climb out of Pongaroa so not for the feint hearted! Most of this route is very remote with limited cell phone coverage so make sure you have what you need to be self sufficeint if you have a mechanical whoopsie.
